He wishes that his neighbors goat will die. He wants his neighbor to be as miserable as he is. Lately I think that should be an american proverb.
What is wrong with us? We voted a guy into office to help fix the huge mess the last guy made and now it seems every time I turn on the tv all I hear is criticism of everything the guy does or wants to do. He wants to take his family on vacation and you’d think it was the worst thing any president had ever done. No one cares that Bush was on vacation something like 1200 days out of his presidency. Maybe that’s why he messed up so much shit? To busy cutting brush and throwing back a few beers.
But it seems like Obama can’t do anything right anymore. He wants to fix healthcare. Something we need desperately. But omg, they are going to unplug grandma. (something completely false) The gov’t failed running a brothel in nevada, what will it do to your health care? (omg…the gov’t never ran a brothel. Hello fact check) The gov’t could never run a successful health care plan… funny since the military get one and the seniors get one and the poor get one.. it’s just the rest of us in the middle who aren’t entitled? What’s up with that?
I keep hearing how all the stimulous money that’s out there to help us rebuild america.. ya know.. the crumbling roads and bridges that plummet into the rivers they are supposed to carry us over, is a huge waste and the gov’t should just cut us all a check for $10k. THAT will stimulate the economy! Really? And how are you going to get to the mall when the bridge near your house is out? Be sure to save some of that $10k to put new tires, shocks and do alignments on your car as you drive down the pot hole filled streets.
Oh but then everyone will cry that the gov’t isn’t doing enough for them. I want my $10k check AND a new bridge and I don’t want to pay 1 cent in taxes for it either!

I keep hearing about the cash for clunkers. Something like 650,000 cars were sold under that program. Sounds like a success to me. But then you have all these dealers crying because the money fairy didn’t appear with their reimbursement checks the next day. Especially after they filled out the paperwork incorrectly. One guy was crying about how he couldn’t meet payroll. Now wait a minute. You had 50 unsold cars on your lot. You sold them.. and now you can’t make payroll? How is that possible?
The average citizens complaining about it really crack me up because you know they are just people who didn’t qualify for the program. “I think it’s a waste of money”, they say on the news. Well, I guess no one in your family relies on getting a paycheck from the auto industry, right?
We gave trillions of our money that evaporated to banking institutions that have been raping us with high interest rates and bullshit fees for decades, and people are crying because the gov’t made it a little easier for middle class people to buy a car? Guess it’s lucky a car can’t die like a goat can or there would be a lot of dead cars if these people had their way.
Is there anything your gov’t can do to make the average american happy anymore? Short of sending them a million dollar check every year so they can live in a mansion, drive a lexus and take lavish vacations… all while paying no taxes, it sure doesn’t seem like it.
Ya know.. when this country was founded, people sent money to help run it voluntarily. Today, you’d think the gov’t was asking for your first born to be able to provide you with schools for your kids, police to protect you and a road to get to the mall so you can buy another pair of crocs to jam your feet in.
Get your priorities in order people. Without a gov’t, where would you really be today? Would you even be able to read? You certainly wouldn’t be reading this because it was the gov’t that funded the internet and said it was important for all of us to be connected. But you’ll never hear something like that on fox news.

So the past few weeks, there’s been a huge uproar about “obamacare” or what the rest of us call health care reform. If you’ve ever gone without insurance, or had insurance and couldn’t get them to pay for a procedure you needed, then you realize that something has to be done to rectify this situation.
We claim to be the best nation on earth, yet we have the worst access for health care in all the industrialized nations. We have the highest infant mortality rate, lower life expectancy and it’s all pretty sad when we pound our chests and say we have the “best” health care in the world.
Now, don’t misunderstand. I’m not out to bash the health care professionals here. That isn’t what this blog is about. It’s about the blood sucking insurance companies that have driven up costs, denied sick people care and lowered the standard of care people with insurance receive. Take for instance giving birth. When my mother had me, she stayed in the hospital for a week. Got extra care, advice on taking care of me, you name it. When I had my son, I popped him out at noon and was checked out the next day. He almost died when I was giving birth to him as he was compressing his cord. Yet they couldn’t wait to kick me out the door… and I had insurance.
Imagine working a job, having health care and then getting diagnosed with diabetes or high blood pressure. Then your company down sizes and you get laid off. Ya know what is going to happen to you when you find a new job? You’re going to be denied insurance coverage because of “pre-existing conditions”. Congratulations. You just became one of the 50 million+ americans that are now without any coverage and it’s not going away unless someone as big and powerful as the government makes it happen.
I’ve been listening to all these people carry on about how they don’t want to pay more taxes, that we should all make our own way in the world and quit looking for a hand out. Is access to safe, affordable health care really a hand out? I didn’t realize it was.
I hear people screaming that it’s socialism, but these same people are on medicare or social security. Drive on a street paved by the state that receives money from the gov’t to pay for it. Have kids or grand kids that go to public schools. Drink clean water. Ride a bus, subway or even a plane. I bet you didn’t realize those things were subsidized by the gov’t too. Maybe they got a grant or a low interest rate on a student loan. Got a housing loan through FHA or the VA because they proudly served our country. Put money in a bank account that is federally insured or any number of things that we take totally for granted when we go through our every day lives.
The government does so much for us that we take for granted. Things that improve our lives and make them better. Why would them forcing insurance companies to quit raping consumers be so bad? Oh that’s right. It’s not. It’s just that all the right wingers want to see this president fail so badly, that they make up outright lies about the health care bills currently being discussed in washington.
Did you know sarah palin was complaining about how she didn’t want to have to go before a death panel to see if she would be entitled to a hip replacement or open heart surgery when she’s older? Well.. unless she’s planning on starting her own death panel, the current bills don’t contain anything of the sort. No one’s going to die because the gov’t won’t pay for a medical procedure. That’s what insurance companies do.
Insurance companies are spending $1.4 million dollars a DAY on lobbiests to go to washington and try to defeat this bill. I wonder. How many americans could get health insurance for that amount of money? I would have to think after you add all that money up, it’ll be quite a lot of them.
So honestly, when you sit down at night to watch the tv and drink your tasty beverage of choice, don’t believe the talking heads on tv telling you gov’t health care would be a horrible, socialist program that turns us into russia. American citizens already enjoy many programs that are ’socialist’ and no one is in the streets screaming about them.
If we can’t all have health care and it’s only for the rich, then this isn’t the country I thought it was when I was growing up. It’s become about greed instead of doing the right thing.. and it’s a shame.
So since 9-11 I’ve been a huge conspiracy buff. Up until that point, I never really paid much attention to what the US gov’t was up to. I was much younger and was busy living my life. I just plain didn’t care what was going on unless it impacted me personally.
After 9-11, there were a ton of videos showing mysterious explosions, debunking the offical reports on what actually happened.. and quite frankly, there was so much about that day that didn’t and still doesn’t add up that I still don’t know if I should believe what we were told. It’s just this huge clusterfuck that makes little to no sense and points to a lot of government involvement, or just plain negligence.
That’s not what this post is about tho. It’s just what got me started visting websites like infowars and prison planet. Watching videos about Fema camps and Plastic coffins. It was the beginning of a long, dark period in my life where I was convinced that rich, powerful people were looking to control us, enslave us and basically kill us.
Lately, it’s all been bordering on insanity. The republicans lost the last election and since then they’ve seized on every crazy conspiracy theory and they’ve convinced their base that it’s all true.

The gov’t is building camps to gas and dispose of mass amounts of americans.
Government engineered flu has been released into the population to kill millions of us.
The list goes on and on.
But yesterday I watched a video where Glenn Beck was telling all his viewers not to log into the cars.gov website because there’s some disclaimer, that he didn’t actually show on his program, saying the gov’t will take over your computer, know everything about you, see all your computer files.. especially that huge porn collection you’ve been amassing. Don’t try to hide it. We all know you’ve got one.

Now.. the best part. That isn’t part of the cars.gov website. It’s for when the dealers log in to process a cash for clunkers vehicle. It’s a standard disclaimer that is put there to ensure they can’t get sued for anything.

Obama won’t have failed like Rush Limbaugh and all the other republicans want him to. Once that happens.. Horror of horrors.. Obama might actually get re-elected!!!!! OH NOES!
So why not scare people into thinking that if they go to a website set up to help them trade in their 1988 rusted out pick up truck, for a nice shiny new one for an incredible price, that they will have malware placed on their computers and forever be monitored by a gov’t with nothing better to do than watch you surf for chocolate cake recipes on a saturday afternoon.
I’d like to believe they have better things to do with their time than monitor the average american checking sports scores or wondering if it’s going to rain next tuesday.

Two rants in one day… I was going to roll them all into my dear mr. president part 1 rant… but I figured they would be better off in two different posts. The previous one was a few days brewing… this one I have been working on since yesterday. I have come to a point where I am almost ready to throw in the towel and its not good. I had alot of hope for our country when I went to the polls to vote in November. If you read the first part of this rant, then you know that I believe Barack Obama is a smarter and better man than our last President…. but after the Presidents speech last night, I am angry and upset. Not because of what he had to say about health care, but because of how he closed out the Q&A session afterwards. The last question he took was about the arrest of Henry Louis Gates Jr by the Cambridge, Massachusetts, police department.
I voted for Barack Obama. For the first time ever I put political signs out around my house during the 2008 election season in support of Obama/Biden. I argued endlessly about why people should vote for Obama. I argued with my mother, my father in law, and others. I believed in the audacity of hope and the ideas he was tossing around. For the most part I still do. This post is going to be a two parter… the first part has to do with the economy, the stimulus, unemployment and some comments the president and vice president made recently. The second part won’t be so nice….

I was reading an article on CNN about how Obama addressed the NAACP and one of the concerns of the NAACP that would probably not be addressed directly by Obama was why the economic downturn is having more of an impact on people of color. Now, im not sure what numbers there are to back this up or in what regards it is having more of an impact on people of color. Perhaps they are hit with more unemployment and higher foreclosure rates. But, why would this economic downturn have such an impact on one group of people over another?
I keep hearing about Black America and how tough it is growing up on the streets when you are poor and have nothing. I have seen documentaries done that show the neighborhoods of where people grew up and live and they are taking video cameras through the streets. I’m not really feeling it. I guess maybe they are trying to attract the attention or more affluent people than me…
I grew up in a small town of less than 5000 people that was built on the anthracite coal industry and tucked away in the mountains of Pennsylvania. My house growing up was a 3 bedroom row home. Our yard was a small patch of grass between the cement base that used to hold up our garage and the lower level basement of the house. My dad had a stroke when I was 2 years old and my mom busted her ass to raise 2 kids and a husband that was left with the brain of an 8 year old after his stroke. The majority of the houses in the neighborhood were like ours, small 3 - 4 bedroom row homes. They were cheap to put up and the miners that first lived in them barely spent more time there than to sleep, shit and wash.
When I saw the houses in the neighborhoods on a Black in America segment on CNN one night, I practically shit myself. Here these people were complaining about the neighborhoods they had to live in. The houses they were showing were at lease 4 bedroom singles with fenced in yards. Run down, yes… but, I have seen plenty of run down houses in my own neighborhood so that didn’t really phase me because the houses they were showing still had great potential.
I guess my point here is that I didn’t have a whole lot growing up. I didn’t have a nice house, I didn’t have money out the ass, my father was a shell of the man my mother married and planned on growing old with, the school system in the area I lived was pathetic, the job market sucked stinky balls and some of the people are so backwards that you wonder how they function day to day. But, still through it all, there was one thing we always had and that was family, friends and the desire to do better. Despite that desire, I ended up dropping out of high school in my senior year. Now… while I am not black, I am a fat bastard. Literally. I weigh a good deal and while I will never know what it is like to live in a black persons skin. I do know what its like to be discriminated against. But, all that aside I persisted, I taught myself how to build Internet based programs, I figured out databases, I found a woman who deals with my 22 hour coding sessions and I busted my ass to try and build something for my future and my family. I don’t have a 9-5 job that provides steady income. I have a shitload of debt and sometimes we struggle to make it to the end of the month. But, I keep trying. I’m not sitting here at the end of the day asking what President Obama is going to do to help me because the economic downturn we are in has cut my income by more than 65%. I’m figuring out ways to make more money and working harder to get it. I’m not sitting on my ass collecting unemployment and crying about how im being held down by the upper class or better yet, by white people. I’m working my ass off to ensure my family has something for our future. Why is it that one of the most influential men in the entire free world is half black and groups like the NAACP is still insisting that the white upper class is holding back the black people? When do we stop blaming other people for our problems at the same time looking to them to fix our problems and start accepting the responsibility of who we are, taking advantage of the freedoms we have and being part of society instead of trying to blame it for all of the problems that are faced by an entire race of people? I mean honestly do we really need to continue being so divisive? Stop fucking blaming the white man and start looking in the mirror. When I see slums where black people are living in nasty conditions.. I don’t see white people selling the drugs they are using, I don’t see white people holding the guns and killing black people. I see black people doing these things. I hear horror stories from teachers that tried to do their jobs in inner city schools. Teachers that went into the job hoping to make a difference, but the kids don’t give a fuck. Caring about getting an education doesn’t come from the teacher. It comes from the home. Where the fuck are the parents that are supposed to be raising these kids and getting them ready to go to school? When my son was 4 I started telling him about all the great stuff that he will be able to do once he starts going to school. I prepared him. I told him he would meet new friends, learn lots of fun things and have fun at school. I took the time to help him prepare, even though I had to bust my ass working as well. I didn’t have the time I wanted for myself anymore. I gave it to my kids. My son is going into 3rd grade this year and even though the school system we live in isn’t very good and we can’t afford to move to a better district we still push him to do well and he does. Exceptionally well. Because of his hard work, he is in the gifted program and he loves school. He respects his teachers and he likes to go there and learn what they have to teach him. I don’t hear stories about kids like this from those teachers that moved away from the inner city schools after they were broken by the kids going to them. When are the parents going to get tough and start accepting some of the responsibility? It always seems to be someone else’s problem or fault. Get over yourself. If you are a piece of shit and your kid is a piece of shit. It is nobody’s fault but your own and probably your piece of shit parents.
I’m not trying to say that just because people are black or live in the inner city there is anything wrong with them. There are some amazing people in this world that have come from the slums and worked their way to be outstanding members of society. And I’m also not saying that only black people are like this. I know plenty of white trash trailer park morons who expect everything as well. But this rant is related to the article I read about the NAACP wondering what president Obama is going to do to help black people affected by the economic downturn. My question is, why don’t these people follow the the lead of President Obama and other black people who came from rough neighborhoods or troubled pasts and look inside to find their strength and do something productive with their life rather than try and point fingers and blame at others?
Yet they supply their troops with next to nothing. WTF?!?
I was watching the news earlier and they had a story about a military mom collecting donations to send care packages to our troops fighting in the middle east. Her son is deployed in Pakistan or some place the news informs me.
She’s looking for things like, towels, shampoo, tooth paste and TOILET PAPER.. She says they have a real hard time getting toilet paper. So wait… we spend all this money, and we can’t even give these poor guys something to wipe their ass with? Are you kidding me?
Now don’t get the wrong idea here. I think what this woman is doing is AWESOME!! Obviously there is a real need to get these items to our fighting men and women. She was saying that the women over there have NO access to feminine products. Uhm.. what? Are you kidding me? Shouldn’t that be something mandatory for them to supply to our female troops? It’s not like you can subsitute an oak leaf for that like you can for toilet paper.
My daughter was talking to a friends brother who is in the service. He said they supply them with socks that are so thin, if they aren’t careful putting them on, they put their foot right through them. But the best part, they can’t supply their own because they have to be a certain color green.
Dry socks are one of the most important things a soldier can have. They get a condition called trench foot from having their feet stuffed in those military issue boots for days on end and once your feet sweat in those paper thin socks, they are basically screwed. Their feet start to rot basically.
How in the hell do we spend billions of dollars for our military, but then supply them with equipment that doesn’t give them one of the most basic needs? Dry feet!
Maybe I’m confused as to how our military get around, but I’m pretty sure they aren’t all given Jazzy electric chairs to buzz around on and shoot people from. Wouldn’t protecting the feet of your army be a pretty high priority? Guess they are to busy spending $50 billion on the bradley fighting vehicle which is basically a monstrous piece of crap.
I’m just astounded at how inefficiently we run things in the US. So much money is wasted on nonsense, while our troops can’t even wipe their own asses because we don’t give them any paper to do it with.
Someone needs to get all the generals together and tell them they have to sit in the 120 degree heat with one pair of paper thin socks and no toilet paper for 6 months and see if anything changes.
The military supply company who makes these awful socks, needs to take a long hard look in the mirror and ask themselves why they are so fucking greedy that they can’t make a pair of socks that will actually keep feet dry for more than 5 minutes.
It’s funny, Bush jr was quoted as saying that America would be much easier to run if it were a dictatorship and he was the dictator. I’m almost inclined to believe that, except he shouldn’t be the dictator because he’s a buffoon. But someone who actually gives a shit about our country needs to step up and fix this shit. Today! They can start with the military and move on to the rest of the millions of problems we have. Provide real solutions and do something that makes sense.
In closing, I’d like to thank every single mother, father, grandmother, sister, etc who take time out of their own lives and money out of their own pockets to help supply our troops with the basic necessities they need to survive in the field. Our government should be ashamed of itself for there even being a need for them to do these things, but thank god they do.
So Bernie Madoff was sentenced earlier today to 150 years in prison. The judge said he wanted this sentence to be symbolic and to make a statement. I believe that this sentence alone falls very short of doing that. If you wanted to have a sentence that was symbolic and would keep people from doing this in the future. The sentence should have been to have Bernie Madoff publicly beheaded. This fucker spent 20 years robbing people as he made nice to their face. He sat with them, ate dinner with them, lied right to their face and happily took their money to pay off existing investors. He shouldn’t be spending the rest of his days in prison. He should be drawn and quartered right in the middle of wall street.
That still wouldn’t be enough though. His entire family needs to go to prison too. His wife played the part of the woman who never knew the man who was doing this. She said she was embarrassed and ashamed by what her husband did. BULLSHIT! This fucker has been stealing from people for 20 years to provide an extravagant lifestyle for himself, his wife and his family. They knew what was going on. There is no way you spend 20 years with someone making that kind of money this guy made, year after fucking year and not know what is happening or at the very least questioning how it is happening. Especially when you are seeing unprecedented returns year after year while everyone else is watching their portfolio shrink.
Which brings me to the next part of my rant. There were two types of people affected by what this piece of shit. There are the people who were friends with Bernie Madoff. The ones who sat down with him face to face and handed him checks for millions of dollars. Some of them have been with him from the beginning like the woman I watched on CNBC this morning crying about how her and her husband have lost 80% of their wealth because of what Madoff did. Or the guy who took his inheritence and invested it with Madoff so he could live off of it rather than work for a living. They handed him money and watched as they got amazing returns on the money year after year.
Then, there are the people who worked for a living. The ones who scrimped and saved so they could grow old and enjoy their golden years. They invested their money with brokers who put the money into feeder funds that placed that money with Bernie Madoff.
As for the first batch of people. Go Fuck Yourself! You gave this fucker money and for years have been making money off the backs of other and are now crying because you have seen your wealth diminish. How much of the wealth you have watched diminish was because of the scam this fucker was running? Year after year you sat down with this scamming prick and laughed at how amazing the returns were that you were getting. The woman on CNBC who said her and her husband lost 80% of their wealth said she felt betrayed and disgusted. She said they were friends with Bernie and Ruth Madoff for 25 years. So, they were most likely investing with them from the beginning. She was crying about how her family is living in survival mode. How they have had to sell two houses and move twice. Well, aren’t you fucking special, you dumb cunt. Go cry me a river. How many houses did you by with the returns you got from your Madoff investments? How many cars? How many vacations did you take? Now you are crying because you should have known better all along? You should have been asking questions about the unprecedented returns you were seeing year after year. Instead you were laughing all the way to the bank. There are alot of people like her and her husband who I feel are equally responsible for what happened. These are the people who knew Bernie Madoff. There is no way they didn’t know what was going on or at the very least questioned how it was that they were getting these huge returns. But they brushed off those questions because they were happy to be getting all this money. Building amazing wealth off of their investments with Madoff year after year and now that its gone they are crying because they have to cut back. Maybe sell a house or two. Possibly sell one of their 5 cars or take 4 trips instead of 6 trips this year. Again, to these people… I say GO FUCK YOURSELF! You are the people that are responsible for what this man did. YOUR greed made this happen. You were more than happy to have the money being handed to you without question. You accepted it, you spent it, you built a lifestyle around it. Even though you knew it shouldn’t be happening. You people dont deserve restitution. You got yoru restitution and spent it happily. YOU should be in jail right along side Bernie Madoff.
Now, there are the other folks. The ones I really feel for. The people that worked their whole life, they saved, they made hard decisions on whether to take a vacation with their kids or tuck the money away for their retirement. They drove the same car for 15 years and lived in the same house for 50. These are the people who truly got scammed. These are the people that deserve restitution. They deserve to get all of their money back and then some for the bullshit they have had to deal with because of this scamming fuck and the greedy pricks I mentioned above. Where do I think they should be getting this money from? Bernie Madoff? Well maybe. But more than him, I think they should be getting their money back from the feeder funds. Just like the guys who invested directly with Bernie Madoff, the people that ran these funds knew what was going on. They are just as responsible for what happened. These are all people who are supposed to know how this shit works. They are supposed to understand investments. The are the ones who should know when someone is doing something that is shady because it brings in unprecedented returns year after year. They held out their hands and took the money from the smaller investment firms and then fed the money right to Bernie Madoff all the while taking a hefty percentage of the returns that were made. These are the people who now need to be prosecuted. They are the ones who need to have everything they own liquidated so that the money can be returned to the people that really did lose everything because of this scam.
Beyond all of this. There is without a doubt that Bernie Madoff put money aside for his wife and family. He put money in all kinds of accounts. Cash with people he trusts, gold in places only his wife knows about. Etc… So, the government better do its job in this case and follow these fuckers and when they try and use this money, whether it is 10 months from now or 10 years from now they better be there to lock the fuckers up right next to the king cocksucker.
Bernie Madoff needs to be hanged and drawn and quartered in the middle of Wall Street. Ruth Madoff and the Madoff children need to be locked up because there is no way they didn’t know what was going on. The guys who invested with Madoff directly and those who ran the feeder funds need to have all of their assets liquidated and be thrown in jail because they also knew damn well what was going on or at the very least that something shady was happening and they need to be held accountable for their actions in funneling money to Bernie Madoff and happily accepting their returns even though they knew they shouldn’t be getting returns like they did.
This one thing will help curtail this sort of fraud in the future because unless the people that perpetrated this (the ones who knew something was happening that shouldn’t be happening but said nothing because they were greedy fucks) are held accountable, the next person like Bernie Madoff that can run a scam like this will have lots of greedy cocksuckers ready to hand him fistfuls of money, as long as they are getting huge returns from it, without asking any questions.
There is also one more group of people that need to be held accountable. They are a group of people that need to be hanged, drawn and quartered right next to Bernie Madoff. They are the government regulators that were supposed to be monitoring people like Madoff and ensuring that he was legitimate. These people failed the taxpayers of this country in a way that should never have happened. What these regulators did should be considered treason and they should pay for their crimes with their life. We have way too much fraud happening in this country anymore and a lot of it is because the people who are supposed to regulate it are all to willing to turn a blind eye as long as they are getting their pockets filled in the process. This shit needs to stop and it needs to stop now. The people that really got screwed from this scam need to stand up and borrow a line from the movie Network and start screaming at the top of their lungs “I’m as mad as hell, and I’m not going to take this anymore!” and then call for the heads of everyone and i mean EVERYONE who was responsible for this scam.
Well, I was going to put a video together with clips from various protests and run it into news coverage of political bashing on our president.. but I got lazy and decided to spend 3 hours writing a rant and posting other peoples videos instead… so here we go….
Alot of drama has followed the recent elections in Iran. Current Iranian president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad won the election in a landslide victory over reform candidate Mir Hossein Mousavi. The Islamic Republic News Agency, Iran’s official news agency, announced that with two-thirds of the votes counted, incumbent Mahmoud Ahmadinejad had won the election with 66% of the votes cast, and that Mir-Hossein Mousavi had received 33% of the votes cast. The European Union and several western countries expressed concern over alleged irregularities during the vote, and some analysts and journalists from United States and Europe based media voiced doubts about the authenticity of the results.
This has led to mass protests from the people of Iran who supported Mir Hossein Mousavi and rightfully so. If you’re candidate lost and you believe that there is a chance of fraud in the results.. stand up and shout… I guess that the real leaders of Iran don’t like that very much though.. so they have tried to shut the protesters up. Bring in the other countries of the world including the US… While president Obama has been slow to throw his support behind the protesters, the GOP has fully grasped the idea of the Iranian people embracing their freedom and right to protest and at the same time taken full advantage of the President’s slow response time… Here is a lengthy video from fox news where former GOP presidential candidate John McCain attacks Obama’s “hands off postion” on the protests and then boasts about the bill that passed the senate by stating that “all of us have certain basic human rights, and they should be allowed to exercise them, and that we should support people’s right to protest without being beaten”… Here is the full clip…
… I think that’s great and I applaud John McCain and the rest of the US Senate for making that statement… especially the GOP and the upstanding view on peoples basic right to protest no matter where they live and what views their government takes on protesters… I just have one little problem with all of it…
While our government is taking a stance on the rights of Iranian citizens and stating that they should be allowed to protest and stand up in the streets to speak their mind against their government… they are doing what they can to suppress our own rights to those same freedoms..
Beyond that… does anyone remember back to the Republican National Convention held in Minneapolis-Saint Paul during Spetember of last year? I sure do… people who tried to peacfully protest the war in Iraq were taken down by police in riot gear… here are a few videos from some of the protests.
Here is a girl holding a flower in her hand as police in riot gear march by.. Most of them leave her alone, but as the video moves along, you can see the girl and a photographer behind her get sprayed at least twice. Wtf were the cops afraid of? What the hell was she going to do with her flower? Attack them?
There are more… lots more… You would think by the number of videos I am posting from fox news that I am a big fan of their right wing biased bullshit… that isn’t the case though… I practically vomit in my mouth every time I see O’reilly, Beck, Hannity and all the other mouth pieces they have on that channel. These just happen to be the videos I am finding… Here is another video from Fox News where the reporter is live on the street and showing a 21 year old girl who was peacefully protesting , raising her hands in surrender and telling the cops that she loves them… They maced her, sprayed her with pepper spray, punched her, pushed her down with their bikes and pretty much beat her in the streets… She was doing nothing threatening at all… she was just refusing to leave the street because she felt her voice needed to be heard… A voice that said I love you repeatedly… I mean we should support people rights to protest without being beaten… right? where have i heard that before? hmmmmm…. anyway.. here is the video..

During the 2008 Republican National Convention, several of Goodman’s colleagues from Democracy Now! were arrested and detained by police while reporting on an anti-war protest outside the RNC. While trying to ascertain the status of her colleagues, Goodman herself was arrested and held, accused of “obstruct[ing] a legal process” and “interfer[ing] with a peace officer”, while fellow Democracy Now! producers were held on charges of probable cause for riot. Here is the video of her arrest and a news conference that was held afterwards discussing it.
So now journalists are being arrested at protests? Sounds like something that only happens in countries like Iran… our Senate needs to do something to stop this sort of thing from happening in other countries… oh, wait.. that wasn’t another country.. it was our own.. Hmm… all of us have certain basic human rights, and they should be allowed to exercise them, and that we should support people’s right to protest without being beaten…. yeah.. ok… Here’s a video of a police line in riot gear advancing on some more PEACEFUL protesters.
I have work that needs to be done.. so I am going to end this novel for now… To sum things up.. I guess it is bad to suppress protesters when it is the Iranian government doing it… but good to suppress protesters when it is the US government doing it..
Here’s a wake up call.. to all of our senators… and congressmen. Republican and Democrat alike.. Wake the fuck up… stop worrying so much about what is happening in other countries when the liberties and freedoms of the people in your own country are being eroded and taken away. Stop using the rights and freedoms of people around the world as your political strategy to win the next election or attack your opponent and start doing the job you were elected to do. Serving the citizens of this country, the United States of America.
While I agree that we need to keep a close eye on the situation in Iran to help ensure that the Iranian government does not start slaughtering these people for speaking up, we need to spend some time looking at ourselves.. and fixing what is wrong with our own country. Senator, Congressman…. Start doing your job! Or at best someone else will be elected to replace you and do that job for you and at worst, we will be relying on other countries around the world to step in and keep our government and police forces from slaughtering people who are peacefully protesting in the streets at a political convention…..
And one more thing… I don’t think the republican party in this country has any ground to stand upon and accuse someone else of fraud during an election and encouraging protest as a result of that fraud. Seems to me they are the experts when it comes to stealing elections they have not rightfully won as well as suppressing the voice of the opposition as a result of the stolen election.
So, to conclude this rant….. The footage I have seen from Iran and all reports indicate that there were a few people shot during the many days of protests in Iran. Whether they were shot by Iranian police and military or someone else is in question. But, those people are still dead. However, the reports and video footage I have seen showed the protesters in the streets of Iran as being pretty violent. I watched them throw rocks at the police while the police stood there and took the constant barrage from the people. I’m not talking small stones. Im talking chunks of concrete and large rocks being hurled at the police. I watched the Iranian protesters light fires and do things that were not happening in any of the videos I saw from the protests in Minneapolis-Saint Paul. Can you imagine the carnage that would have ensued in Minneapolis-Saint Paul if the protesters outside the republican national convention were hurling rocks at the police and lighting fires in the streets? How many of those protesters do you think would have been shot? I would be willing to bet martial law would have been declared and the government would have stepped in to silence the people and get them off of the streets. So, while I think it is great to support the people in Iran and back them in their ability to protest and speak freely. I think it is weak and cowardly to use it as a political wedge as the Republican party is doing, while just 9 months ago we saw an out of control police force suppressing those same rights of American citizens at the request of the Republican’s.
I’m astounded at the amount of media coverage this wack job is receiving. So he sang a couple good songs 30 years ago, he also was a complete mental case.
It amazes me how because someone is put on a stage and handed millions of dollars, they are worshipped by millions of people. If a politician fucks around on his wife with another woman, we run them out of town on a rail. No matter how much good they could do. But an entertainer dyes his skin white, has his nose shaved down to the point where he had to tape it together and my favorite… surrounded himself with little boys. Hey, it’s all good. he’s just a little eccentric. Are you fucking kidding me?
When I heard Michael had died, ya know what the first thought was that entered my mind? Good riddence. I was actually happy. He was a piece of shit plain and simple. Singing a few songs and grabbing his crotch on stage didn’t make him someone to be idolized. Especially when you consider his personal life.
Funny how now they are saying the Doctor that lived with him, is wanted because he injected something into Michael before he died. Imagine that. This freak of nature was also a drug addict. When will we start construction on his statue? How long before we have michael jackson day off from work?
Seriously people. It’s no wonder the people at the top of the humanity piramid look at common folk as a huge bunch of expendable morons. All you need is something shiny waved in front of your face and you’ll do whatever you’re told.
Michael jackson was a mental case. He’s not someone you should idolize. He’s the lowest of the low on the humanity totem pole. He got lucky because he could belt out a few pop tunes and you gaggle of dufus’s paid money to go watch it.
Why is it that losers like Michael jackson get almost complete control of the media for days, but shit that actually matters to how you live your life.. like oh say, President Obama giving the Federal reserve even more power over our financial system, or the climate control bill that’s going to cost every one of you even more money get next to no play? Oh Yeah! There’s nothing shiny on tv when they talk about that. Your tiny brain can’t stay focused because while the politician is telling you how you’re going to get fucked up the ass once the bill they are proposing passes, he’s not doing the moon walk.
It saddens me that people are so upset over this degenerate dying when they should all be dancing in the streets because another useless waste won’t be using up mother earths precious resources.
So to all you Michael Jackson fans. Why don’t you go read a book and learn something. You’re not going to survive long knowing the words to every song Micheal Jackson ever sang. Look in the mirror and be embarrassed by what you see.
